The Hedgeye Director of Data Science will play a key role taking our data science effort to the next level by bringing data products to life that improve the quality of our research, make us better at delivering those ideas, and have a positive and tangible impact on our customers.  As the Chief Data Scientist/Analyst/Wrangler/Innovator, you will examine, assess, supervise, and improve our existing data processes while creating new processes, opportunities, and products. Marrying your financial and data knowledge, you will take a cross discipline approach to execute, innovate, expand, and improve our data processes at Hedgeye.   The Director of Data Science will work closely with the Research Team to improve existing processes, develop new data sets, and deploy cutting edge analytic techniques. Aside from planning and execution, we will count on you to explore new sources, technologies, methodologies, opportunities in the data field. You will also be counted on to present, train, propose and evangelize these approaches. You will have the opportunity to build your domain/team from scratch to match your needs and vision.   As a teacher, a collaborator, and a leader we look to you be the face of Data Science 2.0 at Hedgeye   What You will Do   - Collaborate closely with members of the Research, Engineering, and Media Teams to shepherd ideas from the scratch paper stage all the way to a product that has a positive impact on our customers and our business - Lead projects and initiatives to integrate rich data with research products - Implement/supervise scripting and manage output of various product related data - Analyze data and results for continuous improvement - Provide consultation as subject matter expert for the design, approaches and methodology needed to generate data and data products - Explore new technologies, methods, and opportunities to maximize results

- Develop web applications including planning, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying in an Agile team environment with an emphasis on TDD/BDD and with appropriate supervision - Maintain, modify, and update web applications in collaboration with a lead Software Engineer - Provide technical assistance reviewing, classifying, prioritizing and routing inbound engineering support requests. Communicate updates and resolution information to  technical and non-technical team members - Find, document and track defects performing testing on new software and reporting findings before these reach the field - Provide maintenance support for web applications ensuring availability of all applications.
