Hedgeye Risk Management is seeking a Summer 2024 Legal and Compliance Intern. The ideal candidate is hard-working, intuitive, and collaborative with an interest in pursuing a career in law and/or compliance and work or educational experience in the same. Excellence in the classroom and extracurricular activities are qualifying attributes. Students entering their first, second or third year of law school are welcome to apply. We will also consider undergraduates and graduate students planning to attend law school with prior experience or course work in financial or media regulation. This position may be part-time.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Gain practical work experience on projects to improve the efficiency and efficacy of a corporate Legal and Compliance Department
- Collaborate closely with the Legal and Compliance team to address legal and compliance needs for a media, financial newsletters, and independent institutional research business
- Work with our Operations team to develop innovative technological solutions to increase efficiency within the Legal and Compliance Department
- Review the Firm’s written research
- Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and remain current on legal and regulatory developments within a myriad of disciplines, including securities, employment, intellectual property, and contract law
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of regulatory filings and Firm’s records
- Analyze applicable federal and state law and track updates as well as rules and regulations (focus on the SEC, FTC and relevant state regulators)
