KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Overview

  • Conceptualize and define visual brand representation of Hedgeye’s image, style, voice
  • Create and implement compelling, original designs for interactive platforms and marketing materials
  • Work collaboratively across teams translating business requirements, user needs, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging
  • Create visual designs that effectively communicate and connect product function and brand identity
  • Maintain branding consistency across all projects, media and distribution channels 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Participate in and often lead product ideation and conceptual development
  • Collaborate with business teams and product managers to provide design support that meets business need and supports product goals
  • Use strong UI/UX principles to collaborate with product managers, front end developers, engineers and other User Experience representatives toward solutions that communicate product value, generate high conversion, and promote strong engagement with end users 
  • Translate user stories into functional mockups and prototypes which respect UI/UX principles. Produce prototypes and wireframes, design specifications, layouts, storyboards, and scenarios as part of requirements definition  
  • Implement new designs by creating and editing or sourcing the necessary files and images that will be developed for our Ruby On Rails code base as well as other platforms as needed
  • Design and produce for products and services in support of all Hedgeye’s print and digital media offerings including web, mobile, and video
  • Successfully communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually
  • Oversee use of the brand and its visual components across the firm. Collaborate and coordinate the use of branding cross-departmentally. Participate in all projects and deliverables involving external communication of the brand to assure consistency of branding guidelines.
  • Create and maintain robust visual identity branding guidelines. Maintain brand consistency throughout all our projects
  • Manage library of visual assets for ongoing use
  • Create templates and materials including Word, Power Point, Excel Charts, and other which convey consistent branding
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings or other Agile team activities and protocol
  • Respond to requests with fast delivery/turnaround
  • Continuous independent development of design technique and skill staying on top of trends in design principles

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong Design skills including but not limited to: logo design, color theory, typography, composition, grids, layout
  • Proficient with Adobe Graphic design packages, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Proficient with design prototype tools such as Sketch, Marvel, and Invision
  • Visual communication skill
  • Experience taking a single creative concept and making it work across multiple media
  • Ability to take design action related to branding, marketing, product, user experience, and content strategies into a conceptual and visual framework
  • Data visualization and infographic concepts and technique
  • Strong understanding of how design is interpreted and executed by front end web and mobile development
  • Knowledge of designing for web, mobile and email standards
  • Knowledge of templates and formatting for Power Point and other related document tools.
  • Communication skill to present, educate and defend design proposals and decisions
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and strong requirements
  • Comfortable with rapid and constant change
  • Self-motivated, quick, well-organized, detail oriented & able to keep multiple requirements in sync
  • Flexible and team-oriented

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years proven experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role with responsibility for brand management
  • Successful experience with web and mobile projects
  • Strong portfolio, preferably multivariate (packaging, print, web, mobile)
  • Demonstrated experience with relevant software and tools for design and images editing
  • Actively contributing to online community projects, blogs, and an individual online portfolio or site
  • BS degree in Design, Visual Arts or relevant field
